Spring is in the Air !!
Feb. 18th, 2011 05:34 pmFollowing "Love is in the Air" a few days ago, it is starting to feel like Spring is in the Air now !
The lovely Ricardo (
bazanges ) was staying with us for a long weekend, and I was able to get him a place on an outing on Tuesday to the Chelsea Physic Garden arranged by the horticultural intern, Ben, from the Garden Museum for the volunteers. It wasn't the best day weather-wise (damp rather than wet !) but it was lovely nonetheless to be guided around the historical gardens by a very knowledgeable guide and see the garden coming to life, and it was busy with gardeners "doing their stuff". It's not normally open until April but there are always a couple of open weekends dedicated to snowdrops in February, so it was a double treat to get in midweek for an "exclusive" show!

We were then treated to a warming cup of coffee at the cafe of the nearby Army Museum. By chance there was also a Spring Show going on at the Royal Horticultural Halls, and as Ricardo is a member of the RHS it would have been rude not to have paid a visit (and spend some money!)

Some wonderful things on display....................

....... and Ricardo surveying our plot !!

After a long day it was time for feet up and a large gin (or two!)
