LET THEM EAT CAKE !!... AGAIN !!
Aug. 13th, 2010 05:53 pmSo, this time last week I was putting the finishing touches to our "let them eat cake" outfits for Brighton Pride, and this time I'm baking two, yes two, Chocolate Guinness Cakes a'la Nigella, for 2 Birthdays this weekend. Firstly, it's friend Bobby.... who is coming for supper tonight (his birthday is Sunday and nothing has been said, so hopefully it will be a surprise!) a few other friends are hopefully calling in later for a slice too....... Secondly, our neighbour friend Anna is having a surprise party/bbq tomorrow arranged by husband Joel, so we are taking the other cake there............
This is Nigella's picture, but hopefully mine will look very similar ! (they have in the past lol) I have yet to do the cream cheese frosting... one shortly, the other tomorrow.......
Let them eat Cake... again !
May. 6th, 2010 05:50 pmLast week, "trapped" in the house, I realised it was one of our neighbour friends' birthday and had a card but nothing else ! ....so, as I couldn't get out, I did a "Nigella" !!
A quite nicely turned out "Delia" sponge cake, with butter cream and strawberry jam filling....
........ and now with its party clothes on !!
...then I had to walk the streets with it !!! well, 2 streets... (note to self: I must find a spacious cake carrier for such occasions - to complete the Bree Van der Kamp look !!)
