My mother gave Franco [livejournal.com profile] london1967 an Amaryllis bulb for Christmas, it's not quite as dark as the picture on the box indicated but it is a wonderful colour..... the first flower-head has died but I think there is a little sign at the base of the leaves that another bud may be coming.......

without and with flash

The two orchids my mother chose for Mother's Day (the cream one is from Christmas) and some flowers I got her too....

Our auriculas have really suffered over the winter and I thought we might loose them all, but on a not-to-chilly dry day a couple of weeks ago I re-potted them all, finding more bits of roots that I thought, and in spite of over-night frosts and hail they appear to be pulling through.......... it looks like a nursery full of premature babies !

Despite the snow, frost, hail, bitter winds and heavy rain, "Spring" is valiantly on its way...the garden is full of little splashes of colour !

What next, Easter Bunnies around the corner !!

Your flowers (as well as those you sent to your mother...) really are goregous).
I do like the bit of household decor in the background. So quintessentially charming 'English Cottage"!

Brian is a horticulturist - you'd think I'd have the 'Yard of the Month' at least. Noooo... he hates yardwork at home, lolz....

Oh thank you !!

Yes, I'm sure being involved with it all week, come the weekend I'm sure a "switch-off" is very desirable !! Hope Brian's back is improving....

Hugs ;-)

Wow, that Amaryllis plant looks HUGE! It's beautiful, but I find it kinda scary that it's so huge. :)

Are those Phalaenopsis orchids?

Ah, the auriculas! I feel tempted to kidnap those babies. And while i'm at it, I may kidnap your crocuses too. LOL

Yes, you're right.

They are all frozen solid at the moment, so I guess going nowhere !! LOL
