ALL SET !!
Aug. 6th, 2010 05:38 pm Well, it seems I've managed to get everything together for the Marie Antoinette/Cake costumes rolling out one more time, for Brighton Pride tomorrow..... we just have to hope the weather is kind to us ! Light rain is forecast for the morning.... but hopefully it will have stopped by 10am. Alex and Mike are staying in Brighton for the weekend and have very kindly offered us space to get changed/ready in, and breakfast too, so it will be an early start tomorrow to get to the coast in plenty of time..... Franco has booked the train tickets, so it's a fait accompli !
Only one of the original white lace fans survived, so we are substituting pink feather ones instead.... they are a little bright pink-wise, but they will certainly be seen !!

It's quite strange, but........
Aug. 3rd, 2010 10:39 am I've never really fancied going to Brighton Pride before, but a couple of days ago I thought about it ! Whether it's because I missed London Pride this year, or that I came across a framed photograph when I was tidying out my wardrobe at the weekend. The photograph was given to us by a customer who used to come into the Quebec pub when I worked there part-time. He had taken it as we walked on the 2006 London "Euro-Pride" march, and presented to me a couple of days after.... what a lovely thought! So..... the costumes were stored away in various locations, but I have found most of them. It is a Marie Antoinette/Cake inspired ensemble
Now we have to decide if we are going to do it !! LOL, but it depends on:-
1) Does it still fit (us both) ?
2) Renovations & repairs....
3) The weather forecast, really don't want to get wet (and Franco to get a chill) !
4) The logistics of getting ready....... we are not adverse to travelling in fancy dress, however, I measured previously and we would have great difficulty/no chance of boarding a train....... though we have had an offer of somewhere to change.... depending on the walking distance to the start of the march....
5) And the stomach "butterflies" have already started....... stage fright !! LOL
Maybe this will help.........
